Twitter is testing a safety mode feature that will help crackdown on abuse and trolling. The feature will initially be tested on a small group of users.

Nowadays silence abuse has become a huge issue for any social media platform.The safety mode of Twitter will flag the accounts that use hateful remarks. It is expected that the new feature can protect its users from uninvited comments. The users will also be able to block someone for seven days.

The feature will start working automatically once enabled and deal with any unwelcome tweets. Head of Twitter UK Public Policy Katy Minshall said, “While we have made strides in giving people greater control over their safety experience on Twitter, there is always more to be done.”

He also said, “We’re introducing Safety Mode; a feature that allows you to automatically reduce disruptive interactions on Twitter, which in turn improves the health of the public conversation.”
